Hedging!!
Our lovely neighbour leant us a new toy last week!!!! So we spent a few days cutting the overgrown hedge and chipping it into a partial path down the side of the orchard!! One hedge done loads more to go……

Water water everywhere!!!
When will all this rain stop?!?!?? The road flooded, because soooo much silt came down… And blocked the drains… The winter stream with more water flow than ever before… Swirling away down the partially cleared drain….

James and I took another walk through the woods to see what we could do over the winter…. The dog came off the worst full of seeds and sticky buds!! …

Newspaper and sawdust bricks
In our quest to not waste anything at the farm James has bought a brick maker… Last time we were at the farm James spent some time making some newspaper and sawdust bricks….

Let’s play find a field!!!!
We started with…… After a day with hedge cutters, chain saw and the beast…… Ahhh hello field!!! Bit more work to do removing compost, a dead sofa, cutting back the brambles more, maybe installing a composting loo……

Where has the willow gone…..
A while ago I planted a load of willow sticks to produce basketry willow….. Then the sticky bud weeds ate them…. So I went hunting…… With overalls and gloves….. Then replanted the willows temporarily in a trug from the barn!!! Ta da!!!!

Bracken wars!!!
Creeping into the fields we have a wealth of bracken. As this is going to eventually impinge on the productivity of the land for haylage etc James and I waited until our tenant farmer had mown the field for his haylage and out I went with the beast!!!! Joyfully at the furthest…
