Clearing the front of the house!
After tile hunting I set to with a set of hedge cutters to clear the cotoneaster, ivy etc off the front of the house, especially as the ivy has decided it likes the look of the inside of the end bedroom as we are yet to have soffits fitted!! I forgot the before but suffice…

Tile hunting!
Whilst James was playing on his digger I went to Cardigan to scout out a tile place recommended by our neighbour who has just done his house out completely!! Think we might go with these bad boys through the whole of the ground floor!!

A light in the dark!
As the nights are starting to draw in and it is Very dark on the farm… James and I decided we needed a light…. Something to allow us to unload the car and unlock the tin house on those winters dark nights!!! Ta da!!!!! One solar powered motion sensored light!!!!

Site meeting!!!
Last Wednesday we had our first site meet on the farm!!! I drove down with the dogs and and big apple cake (recipe over at my Elliefants Delight blog under recipes) and a six o’clock builders, electricians, plumbers all began to arrive!!! Day two and three of the borehole!!
Yes it took three and a bit days to drill to 240 foot and then install a tank and all the pipe work!! But there is now water again coming out of a tap at the smallholding!!! The amazing borehole company helped us out with extra connections and they connected up the hovel!!! Hurrah and…

BOREHOLE!!!!
The day after the DPC was completed Heddwyn from well drilling came up with his drill rig and they began to drill the borehole!!!!!! They drilled through the concrete driveway, then six foot of earth, then they hit rock……. The dust!!!!!!! It was immense and everyone around must have been cursing us for the dust!!!!!…

Work has begun!!!
Damp proof injecting has been done on all the stone walls!!!! And we ran out of spring water!!!!! Argh!!!!! Luckily we had one jack of water from home and two spare jacks which our fantastic neighbours let us fill up!!!! James went to investigate and it seems our tank up the hill had been disconnected…

Wednesday, we met the architect who will hopefully be signing off our property at the end!!! Very interesting man to meet and we found out a little more, for example a better idea about how long the building has been awaiting finishing!!
