Us…. OK, we are Ellie and James. Ellie was working as an SEN teacher and James has finished being an asbestos consultant. We have sold up the house in the city suburbs and have moved to the smallholding we have bought a couple of hours away. We have finally finished the house….. which we bought in 2014….
…. just before we got married…..
We have spent the last few years….
Growing our family…..
and building our home…… as well as working on the land and developing businesses to fund all this!
The blog etc chronicles our journey towards what we hope will be self sufficiency and the development of our rural businesses, as well as a few day trips and crafty occurrences!!
We have 2 dogs, 2 cats, assorted chickens and ducks, 2 horses and at last count 10 wayward sheep!! We have a rescue Hedgehog Holly, and two pigs generally for most of the year on the holding!

Been enjoying the photos and the progress, my husband and I are currently in the process of reclaiming 14 acres and a farm house from 30 years of neglect. So your posts always feel relevant to me.
Thank you! And I am glad we are not the only crazy loons dealing with 30 years of neglect!! I found two more dead gates and a few tyres lodged in another hedgerow section I cleared today!!! Ahh well more fodder for the tyre wall!!
